    OANĂ  Gheorghe

 

    Born in Parău, Brasov county, in 1949.

 

Doctor’s degree in economics, awarded by the National Institute for Economics, the Romanian Academy.

Degree in economics, awarded by the Academy for Economic Studies of Bucharest, Faculty of Commerce.

Graduate of  the 3-year further study course, organized by the Training Centre of the Ministry for Foreign Trade. He attended several economics training courses such as the one on competition, organized by Joint Vienna Institute, the one on competition and monopolist prices, organized by the Antitrust Division and Federal Trade Commission USA and the program on taxation and tax procedures held in France, Germany and the Check Republic.

Chartered tax advisor, member of the Tax Advisors Chamber of Romania.

In the period 1972-1990, he was an inspector, a senior inspector and an inspector general with the State Commission for Prices.

Between 1990 and 1996, he was successively a manager, a general manager and a secretary of state with the Department for Prices and competition within the Ministry for Public Finances.

Secretary of State with the Competition Office, in 1996.

M.P. with the Chamber of Deputies, from 1996 until 2001.

Secretary of State, within the Ministry of Finances, from 2001 until 2003.

Vice-president of  C.E.C., from 2003 until 2005.

Chairman-General Manager of „MECONER” S.A., between 2005 and 2008.

Counselor of Accounts, appointed by the Parliament of Romania in  2008, for a nine-year period.

Vice-president of the Audit Authority within the Court of Accounts of Romania, since 2008.

He published books and articles in the field of economics (taxation, prices and competition).
