Chairman of EAG–Bacău advisory and training company, from 2001 until 2004.

In the period 2004-2008, he was a senator, chairman of the Commission for Labor and Social Protection  (2004-2007) and chairman of the Commission for Budget, Finances, Banking Activity and Capital Market.

Counselor of Accounts, appointed by the Parliament of Romania in 2008, for a nine-year term of office.

President of the Audit Authority within the Romanian Court of Accounts since 2008.

He published articles in the field of economics.
